Basic pattern
Work according to chart. Only the right-side rows are charted.
Wrong-side rows: Knit stitches as they appear, purl yarn overs.
The chart shows half the scarf width plus the center stitch.
1 pattern repeat = 12 sts / 20 rows
Garter stitch: Knit all stitches in both right-side and wrong-side rows
Working instructions (brief and clear)
- Cast on 3 sts, 6 rows garter stitch
- Pick up 3 sts from the left edge and the cast-on edge = 9 sts
- Mark the center stitch
- Continue working 3 sts in garter stitch on both sides
- Increases by yarn overs at the edges and on both sides of the center stitch
- Continue pattern according to chart up to row 202
- Finish according to chart rows 43–54
- Bind off loosely
