Instructions for simple socks

Here you will find simple instructions for knitting your own socks from high-quality sock yarn, such as the colorful ElbSox Elphi by ggh:
Materials:
- 100g sock yarn ElbSox Elphi (75% virgin wool, 25% polyamide)
- 2.5 mm needle set
Directions:
1. Cast on stitches:
- Cast on 64 stitches on four needles (16 stitches each).
2. Knit cuffs:
- Knit 2 stitches, purl 2 stitches in rounds for approx. 15-20 rounds or until the desired cuff length.
3. Knit the shaft:
- Continue knitting in rounds in stocking stitch until the shaft has reached the desired length (approx. 15-20 cm).
4. Heel work:
- Knit the heel over half of the stitches (32 stitches). Knit in rows back and forth.
- Heel wall: Knit 32 rows in the knit 1, slip 1 stitch pattern.
- Heel cap: Divide the 32 stitches into three parts (11-10-11) and knit the cap by decreasing until there are 10 stitches left.
5. Knit the foot part:
- Pick up stitches along the heel wall and continue knitting in rounds. Decrease the stitches on the sides until there are 64 stitches on the needles again.
- Continue knitting in rounds until the foot has reached the desired length (approx. 5 cm less than the foot length).
6. Working the tip
- Decrease on both sides of the needles every other round until there are only 16 stitches left.
- Cut the thread, pull it through the remaining stitches and sew it well.
