Quick guide

  1. Cast on 10 meters.
  2. Knit in garter stitch.

General Information

  • Yarn recommendation : Austermann Merino 85
  • Needle size : 6–8 mm
  • Gauge : approx. 14-15 sts = 10 cm

Tip: All letters are knitted twice , then sewn together right sides facing and can be lightly stuffed if desired (e.g. with leftover yarn).

Letter X

  1. Cast on 6 stitches
  2. Knit 10 rows in stockinette stitch
  3. Increase 1 stitch on each side in every second row until 12 stitches are reached.
  4. Knit 8 rows straight up
  5. Decrease 1 stitch on each side every 2nd row until there are 6 stitches again.
  6. Cast off
    → Knit twice. Overlap the pieces and sew them together, fixing them in the middle.

Letter M

  1. Cast on 8 stitches
  2. 30 R smooth right
  3. Cast off = left outer web
  4. Knit the second piece identically = right outer placket
  5. Center strut :
    • Cast on 6 stitches
    • 20 R smooth right
    • Cast off
  1. Join diagonally and sew together

Letter A

  1. Cast on 6 stitches
  2. Increase 1 stitch on both sides in every 2nd row, until you reach 14 stitches.
  3. 18 R straight
  4. Decrease 1 stitch on both sides every 2nd row until you reach 8 stitches.

  6. Cast off
